What is a Dieta?

First and foremost, Ayahuasqueros and Curanderos (healers) in South America believe that all plants have a spirit with their own energy. With that being said, knowing the spirit of different plants allows for the knowledge of the plant to come through and heal the way it needs to.

Some plants are good for inflammation and blood circulation, some plants are known for their energetic potency. Each plants has a property and purpose to heal in the way they are meant to.

Dieting a Master Plant is a merging between you and the wisdom of your individual plant. This involves drastically cleaning the vessel (the body) for the essence of the plant to come through. During your Dieta, you will only be eating bland meals, fruits and vegetables to keep your body, mind and spirit clear. This has been done for centuries by many different indigenous tribes and healers all over South America.

A Master Plant Dieta is an act of devotion. It is an homage to all that our earth provides us and a form of reverence to our beautiful Earth Mother, and the vast herbal wisdom of the Amazon Jungle.

When embarking on a dieta, you will have a plant ally for life. In the physical realm and in the spirit realm. This will also play a huge role in your 3 ayahuasca ceremonies. Master Plant teachers work hand in hand with Mother Ayahuasca and that energy will be present in your ceremonies.

It is important to take solitude in this process. Yes, you are having a group experience but this is a time to take time for silence and meditation. This helps to build the best relationship with your plant teacher and with yourself. Your physical and energetic health will drastically change from this trip, it is important to prep your whole being for any changes that will arise.

 

Your Guides

Josue Perez Rios

Maestro Curandero, Ayahuasquero and Tobaquero, Josue comes from an ancient family lineage of healers in the Amazon of Peru. His family is of the Capanahua people and is the nephew of world renowned visionary painter Pablo Amaringo.

At the of age 5, his Grandfather began the process of guiding and teaching Josue following sacred Amazonian healing traditions. This led the path for Josue to grow into a powerful

healer. In later years, Josue was able to apprentice with Enresto Garcia, Iquitos region’s most

prominant Curandero.

Josue is 41 years of age, carrying his deep lineage of 24 years working with Sacred Medicines healing people of all ages.

 

Jimler Perez Rios

Brother of Josue Rios, Jimler (Jimi) has been working with the medicine for over 12 years alongside his brother. He is well versed in plant knowledge and dieta work. His presence in ceremony is grounding and gentle, weaving in potent icaros into the ceremonies.

He will be working hand in hand with Josue in ceremony and through out the retreat. His knowledge with spiritual cleansing and clearing is vast and he will be there to help in healing the mind, body and spirit.

 

Stephen Goterch

Stephen Goterch has 18 years experience working and serving ayahuasca as his primary sacrament. He is also extremely passionate and skilled in serving the Guardian Kambo sacrament among others. He is honored to be given the title of Ayahuasquero and was trained by the descendants of the late Diego Palma of the sacred valley tribe, shipibo teachers of Iquitos, and curandero Josue Rios in Pucallpa, Peru of the famous Pablo Amaringo linage of healers.

His practice is primarily rooted in Shipibo ayahuasca traditions, but has also studied with Apache peyote shamans, Bwiti iboga practitioners, and various entheogen retreat centers. He has extensive experience serving here in the states and offers an integrated fusion of these ancient disciplines with the needs of our modern society. The crucial aspects of sounds, music, energetics, coaching, and purging are all core to Stephen’s traditional medicine practice.

 

Megan Kelly

Megan’s medicine path began 5 years ago. Coming from a path of addiction and recovery, Megan knew she wanted to go deeper into healing work. This path in turn, connected her back to her healing gifts from childhood. This reconnection brought her deeper into right relationship with all forms of spirit, human and non human, plant, frog, fungi, and ancestral.

With teachers in The States, Peru and The UK, Megan is well versed in Dieta work, ceremonial plant medicines, holistic massage and is a 2x initiated Kambo practitioner.

On this trip, Megan will be your guide with packing lists, what to expect, travels questions, pre integration and post integration before and after your trip. She will also be weave song into ceremonies when needed and will be your “go to” through out your whole trip.

 

Travel & Retreat Schedule

Making a trip like this can be overwhelming, we are here to make this process as easy as possible. We have a group chat with all participants to ensure everyone can make the same

travel plans and have constant contact with the group. During previous trips we were able to get mostly everyone on the same flights as well to make the full travel together.

When it comes to plane tickets it is easier and cheaper to get two separate flights.

One Round Trip from your city to Lima Peru

October 27th – will be your flight out to Lima Peru.

October 27th – you will stay over night in Lima Peru at Padama Hotel once you land. Padama hotel provides transport to and from the airport.

October 28th – You will take a short flight from Lima to Pucallpa where we will be picked up and brought to the temple. It is about an hour and a half into the jungle.

You will then have a welcome meal and get escorted to your huts to relax.

October 29th – Tobacco Plant Dieta with Josue in the maloca with individual prayers and songs for each participant and your first night Ayahuasca ceremony in the maloca

October 30th – Morning Master Plant Dieta in the maloca

October 31st – Morning Master Plant Dieta & Night Ayahuasca ceremony

November 1st – Morning Master Plant Dieta & Art workshop with Ruvexen

November 2nd – Morning Master Plant Dieta & Educational Class with Josue

Novemeber 3rd – Morning Master Plant Dieta & Afternoon daytime Ayahuasca ceremony

November 4th – Morning Master Plant Dieta in the Maloca

November 5th – Closing of the Diet and Closing meal. We then leave the temple and head into Pucallpa.

This is when we check in at the 5 star Los Gavillanes Hotel

November 6th – Integration at the hotel and in Pucallpa! We will visit shops, sit by the pool and soak in the culture.

November 7th – Departure! BUT You do have the option to stay longer.

Please note your time of departure, it is usually very late at night and you may need to pay for another night at the hotel.

 

IMPORTANT TO REMEBER

Check your phone carrier before the trip. If you do not have an international phone plan and would like gauranteed phone service, check with your carrier for options. If you do not have the option, almost everywhere we go will have wifi (except the temple) just have your

family/friends download telegram or whatsapp to keep in contact with them.

Please also bring cash to exchange in the Lima airport. $27 is equivalent to 100 Soles.

About $300 USD will get you 1,120 SOLES

And just for refernce, when you go out to eat, a meal at a restaurant will still be around 25 SOLES

Overall, your money goes a long way so depends on what you want to spend. There are plenty of shops to buy clothes and there will be items to buy in the temple as well.

you will also need smaller bills for transport in the moto cars. Packing list will be given in the group chat for participants.

Preparation happens months before the trip. This includes individual integration support prior to your trip and a group introductory zoom call a month prior to departure.
